Katrien Karimoen, studied piano with Herman Uhlhorn at the Utrechts Conservatory and with Gustavo Beytelmann and Carel Kraayenhof at the
Rotterdam Conservatory.
While at the Conservatory, Karimoen played with the orquestra típica OTRA under the leadership of
Leo Vervelde and founded the
Sexteto Puñal with fellow students.
As member of OTRA, Sexteto Puñal and the tango quartet Tincho, Karimoen has played in tango salons throughout the Netherlands.
